West Brom will be desperate to continue their pursuit of automatic promotion on Friday night when they host Aston Villa in the Championship.
The Baggies have been playing well in recent times but were unable to come out with a win in their last outing. A late fightback from Brentford saw Darren Moore’s side held to a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns.
Villa, meanwhile, will head into the game in confident mood. Following Dean Smith’s appointment as the club’s new manager, the team have been in improved form.
On Saturday afternoon, they were able to defeat Middlesbrough in comprehensive fashion as they sealed a 3-0 win away from home.
It’s set to be a tense affair on Friday night between two teams who will no doubt be vying not only for bragging rights over their rivals but for further ground in the promotion race.
Here is how we think West Brom will line up against Aston Villa.
Sam Johnstone
Johnstone is set to continue in goal against his former side.
Tosin Adarabioyo
Adarabioyo is likely to line up once again in defence for the Baggies.
Craig Dawson
In central defence, Dawson is poised to continue.
Ahmed Hegazi
Moore is set to call on Hegazi to line up alongside Dawson at the back.
Kieran Gibbs
Making up the back four, it is likely that Gibbs will be given the nod once again.
Matt Phillips
On the right-hand side of the midfield, Phillips is poised to play against Villa.
James Morrison
Morrison should retain his place in the middle of the park.
Jake Livermore
Alongside Morrison, it would come as a surprise if Livermore is displaced.
Harvey Barnes
Barnes netted against Brentford and is set to line up once again in the clash with Villa.
Jay Rodriguez
Rodriguez squandered some good chances in the Baggies’ last outing but is set to keep his place.
Dwight Gayle
Gayle is likely to return to the side in place of Hal Robson-Kanu.
