West Brom are interested in completing a loan deal for Everton midfielder James McCarthy, according to Sky Sports News.

The Ireland international has not played for the Toffees in almost a year, after he sustained a double compound leg fracture last season against the Baggies, following an accidental collision with Salomón Rondón.

Having now returned to match fitness, Everton are keen to find him somewhere to go where he can earn regular minutes in first-team action.

MailOnline reported recently that both West Brom and West Ham were interested in bringing McCarthy in this month, and today Sky Sports have backed those claims, stating via their sources that Darren Moore is interested in McCarthy as he looks to strengthen his squad.

McCarthy would join his former Everton midfield partner Gareth Barry at the Hawthorns, as well as current Everton defender and Baggies loanee Mason Holgate.
