Mansfield Town have rejected enquiries made for West Brom target CJ Hamilton this month.
According to reports, the League Two promotion hopefuls are battling hard to keep hold of the player who has been valued at a reported £750,000.
Championship duo West Brom and Preston are both said to be interested in signing the player.
Darren Moore’s men have been heavily linked with a move for Hamilton in recent weeks but it is yet to be confirmed if one of the enquiries in question has come from the Baggies.
West Brom will be hoping that their promising league position and the possibility of Premier League football next season will be enough for them to win the race to sign Hamilton.
The 23-year-old has been impressing with Mansfield this season, finding the back of the net seven times in all competitions.
Moore will be more than familiar with Hamilton after seeing him in action against the Baggies earlier this season.
