Matt Phillips has stepped up his recovery as he aims to provide West Brom with a timely fitness boost.
The Express and Star reports that the player is back training on grass following a nasty ankle injury.
West Brom have been without the Scottish winger for their last five games, but with a tricky run of fixtures coming up, Phillips could provide the Baggies with the lift that they need.
Speaking to the media, Darren Moore confirmed the good news.
Matty Phillips is outside and running, doing all his bits and pieces. It’s great to see him back outside, that’s where their development and recovery comes out, when they’re doing football-based practises. James Morrison as well, is back outside.
The winger has started 21 games for Albion this season but has not featured since New Year’s Day. Phillips could now be in contention to face Stoke.
West Brom will be keen to bounce back after a disappointing defeat to Middlesbrough last weekend.
The Baggies face Brighton in the FA Cup this weekend before games against Stoke, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.
