Ollie Burke has been encouraged to stay at Celtic by pundit Don Hutchison.
Loaned to Parkhead from West Brom during the January transfer window, and has been in strong form for the Hoops since his move north of the border.
Having joined the Baggies from RB Leipzig in 2017, the Scotsman had struggled to make his mark in the Midlands before being temporarily shipped off to the Scottish champions.
In nine league appearances for the Bhoys, Burke has bagged four goals and shown himself to be a reliable attacking outlet.
Quoted by the Birmingham Mail, Hutchison said:
There’s no need for Ollie Burke to move away from Celtic because at the present time, the form he has been in, not amazing form but better form from where he was a year ago.
He probably wouldn’t get in most Premier League sides at the moment, not starting anyway.
So this is no disrespect to Celtic but it’s a great place for Ollie Burke to try and improve, play well, and have an atmosphere and a crowd that are going to drive him on and a manager in Neil Lennon, or whoever it may be in the summer, that will drive him on to the next level.
It remains to be seen whether Burke can carve out a career at West Brom, but one thing is for sure – the 21-year-old is already at the fifth club of his young career. Can the forward make one stick?
