Isaac Hayden could be on his way to the Hawthorns this summer.

One thing is for sure however, and it seems to be that he won’t be staying at Newcastle.

The midfielder joined from Arsenal in 2016 having never played a game for the Gunners, and has broken into the national consciousness in recent months with his performances at St James’ Park.

The Baggies were understood to have made an unsuccessful approach for the 24-year-old in January when they knew he had no desire to stay on Tyneside, and Hayden’s recent comments will only give hope to West Brom fans that a move could be on the cards.

Quoted by the Newcastle Chronicle, Hayden said:

I’ve got my side of the story out – I’ve made it pretty clear how things go.

I don’t think there’ll be many questions.

I don’t think summer’s going to be an issue.

Eager to make a move closer to London for his daughter, Hayden revealed:

She’s a one-year-old who’s used to doing five-hour journeys.

Most one-year-olds would be kicking and screaming not happy at all.

I’m sitting here looking at her thinking this isn’t fair on you anymore.
