Leicester loanee Harvey Barnes left a huge impression on the Hawthorns in his short time at the club, and the Baggies were forced to turn to a couple of other loan options in order to fill the void.
With that in mind, it seems as though there is a vacancy at the winger position in the West Midlands.
We know little about West Brom 2019-20 – what league they’ll be playing in, or even who the manager will be.
Regardless, we thought we’d take a look at some candidates to make the move to West Brom in the summer.
1) Luther Singh - Chaves (on loan from Braga)
The 21-year-old has impressed during his loan spell at Chaves, and it is not yet clear if Braga have long-term plans for the South African. West Brom could pounce on the uncertainty and add the speedster to their ranks, who would be sure to terrorise opposing full-backs of any division.
2) Toni Villa - Real Valladolid
A diminutive winger playing for Real Valladolid in La Liga, Villa’s side is threatened with relegation. Should he fail to keep his club in the Spanish top-flight, West Brom could make a move for the 24-year-old who is a truly natural dribbler.
3) Riccardo Orsolini - Bologna (on loan from Juventus)
The Italian is also in the midst of a relegation fight, and if his side perished to Serie B, again West Brom could move to bring the 22-year-old to the UK. On loan from Juventus, it’s hard to see the wide-man breaking into the first-team anytime soon. Orsolini likes to shoot from range, and is deadly from a free-kick.
4) Emmanuel Iyoha - Erzgebirge Aue (on loan from Fortuna Dusseldorf)
Iyoha is a young, tall, athletic forward capable of playing anywhere across the front three. If West Brom wanted to add a versatile weapon who could create match-up nightmares for opposing defenders, then the German U21 star could be the man to go for.
5) Jarrod Bowen - Hull City
Bowen has impressed for Hull this year (one of only a few…), and the 22-year-old could soon attract interest from some of the bigger clubs in England. Can West Brom beat the crowd and add the former Hereford man to their squad?
