Not a good result for West Brom mid-week, which made it two losses in a row for the Baggies.
James Shan will be looking to switch things up going into the home fixture against Preston North End.
The caretaker manager managed to turn things around for the second half of the game against Bristol City, however, the loss came through a poor defensive performance in the first half.
The return of Ahmed Hegazy should help solidify the defence.
As the automatic promotion push is off the cards, the Albion will be looking to confirm their place in the playoffs with a few more wins and playing Preston who are mid-table, it will seem like the perfect game for The Baggies to grab extra points.
With Alex Neil the main target to take over Darren More’s job, it will be interesting to see how the home fans react to his visit to The Hawthorns.
Here’s how we think West Brom will line up:
GK: Sam Johnstone
Hasn’t been on form recently, but still the number one choice.
LB: Kieran Gibbs
Conor Townsend has a poor game against Bristol. Change needed.
CB: Ahmed Hegazy
Back from suspension. Missed him last game.
CB: Craig Dawson
Didn’t impress mid-week, needs Hegazy alongside him.
RB: Mason Holgate
Best option for RB, contributes to both defence and attack.
CM: Jake Livermore
Need his quality, hasn’t been bad all season. Can do the basics well.
CM: Gareth Barry
The experience of Barry will help secure a play-off position.
CM: Stefan Johansen
Stefan Johansen provides great attacking vision, should have a good game against Preston.
LW: Dwight Gayle
Gayle averages above 20 goals a season, still got more goals in him.
ST: Jay Rodriguez
Full of quality, brings a lot to the West Brom side.
RW: Jacob Murphy
Came on for Kyle Edwards in the second half of last game, provided lots more.
