West Brom are expecting both Craig Dawson and Stefan Johansen to recover in time for the play-off semi-final second leg against Aston Villa on Tuesday night.

James Shan’s side conceded twice late on against Villa on Saturday after taking the lead through Dwight Gayle, meaning they will have to overturn a one-goal deficit at The Hawthorns.

Gayle has been ruled out of the meeting after his red card at Villa Park, while Hal Robson-Kanu, Gareth Barry and Jake Livermore are also out of the clash.

However, on a more positive note, Shan is expecting to have both Dawson and Johansen available for the second leg, the Birmingham Mail report.

Defender Dawson was suffering with a sickness bug and was replaced by Tyrone Mears at the interval, while Johansen made way for James Morrison late on with a calf issue.

Both players are expected to retain their places in the starting line-up, along with Matt Phillips, who wasn’t able to complete 90 minutes on Saturday due to fatigue.
