West Brom will aim to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg, when they welcome Aston Villa to the Hawthorns for the second leg of the Championship play-off semi-final tie.
James Shan’s men were very good in the first half at Villa Park and took the lead, but things went in favour of the Villans after the break.
As a result, the Baggies will now chase a tie at home against an in-form Villa side, who look determined to reach the play-off final.
Hence, they will have to be at their best, firstly to impose their game on Dean Smith’s men, and secondly to overturn this deficit.
There is some positive team news for West Brom though, as they expect the duo of Stefan Johansen and Craig Dawson, who were subbed off in-game during the weekend, to be fit for the second leg.
Dwight Gayle, who received a red card on Saturday, is now suspended for two games. Therefore, if the Baggies manage to reach the final, the striker won’t be playing that game as well.
Here’s how we think Shan may line his team up for tomorrow’s game:
GK - Sam Johnstone
He is their first-choice keeper and should be in goal tomorrow.
RWB - Mason Holgate
The loanee from Everton struggled a bit on Saturday. He needs to cope with the wide threat of Villa in a better way tomorrow night.
CB - Craig Dawson
Dawson was subbed off due to concussion fears. He is backed to be fit for the second leg and should keep his place in the team.
CB - Kyle Bartley
The first leg of this tie was probably one of the better games played by Bartley in a West Brom shirt. Albion fans would be hoping for more of the same tomorrow.
CB - Ahmed Hegazi
The Egypt international is their regular centre-back and should keep his place for the second leg.
LWB - Kieran Gibbs
The former Arsenal man has had quite a lot of quiet games in the past few weeks. He must improve his performance in such a crunch game.
CM - Chris Brunt
The captain played well on Saturday and controlled the midfield. He is more than certain to keep his place for tomorrow.
CM - Stefan Johansen
The Norwegian star was subbed off on Saturday amidst injury fears. However, he is tipped to be fit for the second leg and should keep his place in the team.
RW - Matt Phillips
The game on Saturday was Phillips’ first in two months. Hence, he looked rusty at times. But the winger possesses the quality to make the difference tomorrow night.
ST - Jay Rodriguez
With Gayle suspended and Hal Robson-Kanu not available, Rodriguez may have to shoulder the scoring responsibility in the second leg. The service to him needs to be better compared to Saturday though.
LW - Jacob Murphy
With Gayle suspended, Murphy may get a chance from the start on the left wing.
