The club sacked Darren Moore in March after a string of poor results left West Brom’s chances of making the top two incredibly slim, leaving Jimmy Shan in charge as caretaker until the end of the campaign.

Shan led West Brom to 4th in the Championship table before losing to Aston Villa in the play-off semi-final – on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate draw.

Labbadia is due to leave Wolfsburg this summer upon the expiry of his contract, despite finishing 5th in the Bundesliga table, and would be available to West Brom on a free.
