Newly-promoted Sheffield United are after West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez, who is reportedly up for grabs for just £5 million, according to the Mirror.

Chris Wilder only has a reported £20 million budget to spend this summer, and after other deals for strikers have fallen through, he thinks that getting Rodriguez for £5 million is a deal he simply cannot ignore.

In the 2018/19 season, the 29-year-old striker bagged 22 goals for West Brom and as a former England international team, it’s clear he is worth more than the £5 million he is being sold at.

He would be a real asset at Sheffield United after reports claim Wilder is searching for a top-notch striker, however, reports says that United won’t have it easy when it comes to securing Rodriguez’s services.

His ex-academy side Burnley are also looking to sign him with Leicester and Bournemouth also interested. United will have to be quick to get their deal done for the striker.
