Newly-promoted Sheffield United are after West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez, who is reportedly up for grabs for just £5 million, according to the Mirror.
Chris Wilder only has a reported £20 million budget to spend this summer, and after other deals for strikers have fallen through, he thinks that getting Rodriguez for £5 million is a deal he simply cannot ignore.
In the 2018/19 season, the 29-year-old striker bagged 22 goals for West Brom and as a former England international team, it’s clear he is worth more than the £5 million he is being sold at.
He would be a real asset at Sheffield United after reports claim Wilder is searching for a top-notch striker, however, reports says that United won’t have it easy when it comes to securing Rodriguez’s services.
His ex-academy side Burnley are also looking to sign him with Leicester and Bournemouth also interested. United will have to be quick to get their deal done for the striker.
Preston’s Callum Robinson proved himself as one of the better Championship attackers last season.
