West Brom eager to sign Gayle as part of Rondon deal
West Brom are hoping that they can sign Dwight Gayle as part of the deal to sell Salomon Rondon to Newcastle this summer.
According to The Daily Mail, West Brom want to bring Gayle back to the club ahead of next season and hope that Rondon is the key to being able to do so.
The report claims that talks will take place between the two clubs over the possibility of Gayle being included in a package to send Rondon to Newcastle on a permanent basis.
Gayle signed for West Brom on loan from Newcastle last summer, with Rondon going the other way, and plundered 24 goals in the Championship for the Baggies.
The club were unable to sign him permanently earlier this summer, due to his wages, but are now interested in seeing whether they can cut the cost by bringing him in as a makeweight in the Rondon move.
Rondon scored 11 Premier League goals for Newcastle and impressed at St. James’ Park last term.
