West Brom could be set to lose midfielder Rekeem Harper at the end of this month, with his contract due to expire.
The midfielder’s current deal runs out at the end of this month, meaning that he would become a free agent for the rest of the summer.
Harper has been linked with a host of clubs, including Celtic, Tottenham and Norwich, whilst West Brom have also reportedly tried to keep him at the Hawthorns following the arrival of Slaven Bilic.
If West Brom fail to agree terms with Harper and he does leave the club, Bilic will need to dip into the transfer market in order to replace him.
After finishing 4th in the Championship last season, new manager Slaven Bilic will be hoping to add to his squad and go one step further next season and earn promotion back to the Premier League.
Here are some potential replacements for Harper…
Todd Cantwell
With Norwich having signed Patrick Roberts and reportedly on the verge of bringing in David Turnbull, they could be tempted to send Cantwell out on loan. The talented young midfielder could add some more creative spark to West Brom’s midfield next season.
Mason Mount
Mount was superb for Derby in the Championship last season and could be tempted at having another crack at promotion, but with West Brom this time. The 20-year-old is excellent on the ball and can dictate games from midfield.
Josh Brownhill
The Bristol City central midfielder would be a sublime signing for the Baggies. He’s a great technician and is able to produce moments of magic with long-range strikes.
Oliver Skipp
Skipp was given a number of chances at Spurs last season and could now be ready for a full season of first-team football. The midfielder could benefit from a loan move to West Brom.
Andy Rinomhota
The young Reading midfielder impressed in the Championship last season and could be ready to make a step up to a side challenging for promotion. Great at winning the ball back, Rinomhota would be a good base for West Brom’s midfield.
Lewis Baker
Baker could be available on a permanent or loan deal from Chelsea this summer, after spells at Leeds and Reading last season. The midfielder could be a shrewd signing for the Baggies.
Marcus Browne
Browne excelled at Oxford on loan from West Ham last season and could be tempted to now test himself at Championship level. He would add more goals to West Brom’s midfield.
