West Brom are thought to be interested in right-back Ivan Balliu, according to Spanish outlet AS, cited by Sports Witness.
The report suggests that the Baggies are looking at the possibility of bringing the Albanian to The Hawthorns, with current right-back Allan Nyom edging towards a move to La Liga side Getafe.
The story then goes on to add that Balliu is willing to accept a move to the Midlands, with one of his key ambitions to ply his trade in England.
Balliu, who came through Barcelona’s famous youth system, was recently released by French club Metz after spending four years with the club.
The 27-year-old’s release came as a surprise, with the full-back an ever-present figure during his four-year stint in France, playing a key role in helping the club back to Ligue 1 last season.
The Baggies look set to face competition from Spain for Balliu’s signature, with Real Valladolid, Leganes and Espanyol all keen on the defender.
West Brom boss Slaven Bilic is keen on adding to his right-back options, and a deal for Balliu could well turn out to be a smart piece of business.

A Premier League winner, Simpson is currently a free agent following his release from Leicester City. The Baggies may have to act fast if they wish to sign the Englishman, with Scottish champions Celtic extremely keen on the former Manchester United man.
The Baggies could launch an ambitious loan move for Tottenham’s Walker-Peters. Spurs could be interested in loaning the youngster out, and West Brom would certainly be able to offer him regular game time.
Baldock helped Sheffield United to the Premier League last season, but with just 12 months left on his Blades deal, the right-back could be set for a Bramall Lane exit. The Baggies may well look to secure his services if that is the case.
Manchester United’s Fosu-Mensah is currently on his way back from an injury, however, he could be another player the Baggies may considering signing for. the upcoming campaign.
