West Brom are still thought to be keen on Sporting Lisbon winger Matheus Pereira.
There had been reports claiming West Brom had ended their interest in the 23-year-old who spent last season on loan in the Bundesliga with FC Nurnberg.
However, according to Portuguese outlet Record, cited by Sports Witness, the Baggies are still in talks with Sporting regarding a possible loan deal for the Brazilian.
The report claims that West Brom initially offered a €300,000 loan fee for the wide man, which would be doubled if the club earned promotion to the Premier League.
However, Sporting are holding out for a €1 million loan fee, something the Baggies may well be tempted to agree to.
Pereira made 21 appearances in Germany last season, scoring three times, with his last goal coming against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
West Brom have already brought in Filip Krovinovic from Benfica on a season-long loan, and Pereira could still be the next through the door on a temporary deal at The Hawthorns if the Baggies can strike a deal.
