After a disappointing exit in the Carabao Cup, the Baggies return to Championship action and travel to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town.
After failing to beat Millwall twice in the space of a few days, this game will be seen as a must win to boost the confidence in the squad.
Albion are aiming to win this game and take 7 points from the opening 3 games, which is more than satisfactory given that we lacked options in the squad for the first 2 games of the season, mainly up front.
The new signings made on deadline day are set to get their first taste of Championship action, after getting valuable minutes midweek in the cup.
Baggies fans will surely be hoping the new additions can make a significant impact up front and get more goals in the side, with Saturday’s game being the first big test to see what they can do at this level.
Here’s how I think West Brom will line up:
GK: Sam Johnstone
Left out midweek. Likely to return between the sticks on Saturday.
RB: Darnell Furlong
One of the better players on the pitch midweek. Would like to see him start.
Cb: Semi Ajayi
Unlucky not to score twice on Tuesday. Has to keep his place.
Cb: Kyle Bartley
Replaced by O’Shea on Tuesday night but set to be put back in for league action.
Lb: Kieran Gibbs
Another one left out for the cup and expected to be back in on the weekend.
Cm: Romaine Sawyers
Brought on in the second half midweek but couldn’t change the result. Started both league games and likely to be in again.
Cm: Filip Krovinovic
A very impressive performer early on this season and has connected with the fans very well. Likely to keep his place.
Cam: Grady Diangana
Impressive debut in the cup for the loanee before being taken off. Would like to see him make his first league start.
Lw: Matheus Pereira
Came on briefly against Millwall and showed flashes of his quality. Would like to see him start to really show what he has to offer.
Rw: Matt Phillips
Not involved in the cup exit, but likely to be straight back in on Saturday.
St: Kenneth Zohore
Needs to get that first goal quickly for his confidence. Still doubts over Austin’s match fitness so I expect him to lead the line.
