West Brom fans react to facing Newcastle in FA Cup
Plenty of West Brom fans fancy the club’s chances after it was confirmed this week that Newcastle United will travel to the Hawthorns in the FA Cup Fifth Round.
Newcastle were taken to extra-time by Oxford United in a replay on Tuesday night, following a 0-0 draw in their initial Fourth Round clash at St. James’ Park.
Allan Saint-Maximin produced a moment of brilliance to secure the Magpies’ spot in the next round though, after Steve Bruce’s side lost a two-goal lead in normal time.
West Brom eliminated Premier League opposition in the previous round, beating Slaven Bilic’s old club West Ham United 1-0 at the London Stadium, courtesy of Conor Townsend’s early strike.
If Bilic’s men can topple Newcastle too, the club will have reached their first FA Cup Quarter-Final since the 2014/15 season.
These fans are feeling optimistic about the Baggies chances, especially after watching Newcastle collapse at a League One club on Tuesday.
