West Brom are set to take on Birmingham City at The Hawthorns as Championship football returns after a three-month break.
The Baggies, who currently sit in second place in the Championship are six points ahead of Fulham in the automatic promotion places with nine games to play.
This will be an important game to start things off with three points as the Baggies aim to put pressure on the chasing pack that currently occupy the playoff places.
Prior to the suspension of the season, Birmingham hadn’t won a match in their last six games, which will give Albion hope of kicking the season back off with a victory.
Albion weren’t in the best form themselves though, with a defeat and a draw to Wigan and Swansea respectively.
Birmingham will have some players that could cause Slaven Bilic’s men problems and we have take a look at four of those men that could stand in Albion’s way on Saturday afternoon:
Harlee Dean scored Birmingham’s second goal in the reverse fixture when Albion came from behind to win 3-2. Dean is a big threat from corners with his physical presence, which will test both the Baggies defence and attacking line, so Slaven Bilic will be hoping his players will do enough to overcome the big central defender.
Jude Bellingham has been a revelation for Birmingham this season at the young age of 16 and he is sure to make a big-money move to a top club next season. He has the eye for a good pass and a dangerous shot at any moment and he’s not afraid to hold his own in a physical battle. Arguably Birmingham’s player of the season and Albion will be looking to not let him dictate the midfield battle.
Hogan was brought in from local rivals Aston Villa when his unsuccessful loan spell at Stoke ended earlier on this season. Hogan loves to get in behind defenders with his pace and clinical finishing and he will be looking to add more goals to his game as he looks to get his career back on track.
The 31-year-old has netted 14 times so far this season and has shown himself to be a reliable Championship striker as the Blues continue to aim to ease their relegation fears. Loves to score headers from 6 yards out and bully defenders in the air. He’s pretty smart with his feet in that area too, so the Albion defence will need to be strong and organised when coming up against this physical forward.
