Yesterday, we reported that West Brom are interested in taking Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher on loan for the upcoming season but they aren’t the only newly-promoted side looking at the midfielder.

Leeds United have now shown an interest in the England U21 international and the Daily Mail report that, despite interest from elsewhere, it is Leeds and the Baggies who are the most advanced in their pursuits.

Gallagher had looked set to join Crystal Palace on loan for the season but Premier League rules state that only one player can be loaned out by one top-flight club to another and Palace have chosen to tale Michy Batshuayi instead, despite Gallagher having already had a medical with the Eagles.

The midfielder played very well on loan at Swansea last year and he’ll be keen to make the step up to playing regular Premier League football and now West Brom look like they’ll need to convince him that they are a better option at this point than Leeds.
