The 26-year-old made his full Baggies debut against the Red Devils after an impressive cameo in last Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham and was an excellent shield in front of the defence.
Yokuslu played for 66 minutes today, had 29 touches, won two aerial duels, completed 72.2% of his passes, made two interceptions and four clearances, had one successful dribble and won two free kicks (WhoScored).
The Turkish international was brought in to turn over the ball, nullify the opposition and provide a calm head in midfield as West Brom have the lowest average possession and the second-worst pass completion rate in the Premier League (WhoScored).
Yokuslu showed his quality against United and these Baggies fans took to Twitter to laud his performance today, with one calling him a “beast” and another believing that he “had a blinder”:
Unlucky not to take all 3 today.
Not sure why it’s taken til now to actually shout and appeal in numbers for decisions in our favour?
Okay looks a beast 😍
Sadly still need to win the next 4 games to have any chance 😂 #wba

My take from today:
• We could have won that, 3 massive chances not taken in the last 20 minutes
• Okay Yokuslu added a lot of defensive stability, looks more than okay
• Diagne adds a strong presence up top, but needs to take his chances more
• Johnstone is world class#WBA

Diagne should have had a hattrick today 🤦♂️ Gallagher was brilliant, Okay is much more than Okay, a point in the right direction 👍 #wba

That new player, the Okay fella, he plays angry. I think that’s what we’ve been missing. #wba

We drive me mad, feel like we should of won that. Impressed with Okay, Diagne is a handful we need him the championship next season #wba
