West Bromwich Albion travel to face Burnley on Saturday afternoon in a must-win game for the sake of their survival and Sam Allardyce may be forced into one change due to injury.
He’s keen to reward the side that drew 1-1 with Manchester United last Sunday with another runout over the weekend, so Albion’s lineup shouldn’t be much-changed.
Sam Johnstone was solid against United and has been West Brom’s standout performer this season, so he’s sure to start on Saturday afternoon.
Semi Ajayi turned over the ball six times last weekend and Kyle Bartley made the second-most interceptions among teammates (WhoScored), so the duo should partner one another against Burnley.
Darnell Furlong impressed after replacing the injured Lee Peltier against United while Conor Townsend turned over the ball five times, so both players are likely to get the nod at right-back and left-back respectively.
Okay Yokuslu made more interceptions in all but two West Brom players, so he will keep his place in midfield. Conor Gallagher was energetic in both boxes against United and is sure to start. Ainsley Maitland-Niles didn’t do badly either, so he too should keep his spot in midfield.
Robert Snodgrass made more tackles than any Albion player last Sunday, so he’s a shoo-in to start at right wing. Matheus Pereira underperformed against United, but he still created two chances and whipped in five crosses with 60% accuracy, so he’s likely to keep his place also.
Mbaye Diagne scored against United and has now had a hand in two goals from three Premier League starts, so Allardyce won’t be leaving him out.
Predicted XI to face Burnley: Johnstone; Furlong, Bartley, Ajayi, Townsend; Snodgrass, Maitland-Niles, Yokuslu, Gallagher, Pereira; Diagne
