West Brom welcome Brighton to The Hawthorns next weekend and could be without three players ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash, with Semi Ajayi, Kieran Gibbs and Robert Snodgrass all confirmed or potential absentees.

Ajayi was sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Burnley and will now be suspended against Brighton. Dara O’Shea was brought on for Matt Phillips after Ajayi was dismissed and is likely to start alongside Kyle Bartley on Saturday.

Gibbs missed the Burnley stalemate with a neck and shoulder injury and, according to Premier Injuries, he will be doubtful for Saturday’s meeting. However, Conor Townsend has been starting regularly at left-back in recent weeks in any case.

Snodgrass has a bruised knee which kept him out against the Clarets and is touch and go for the Brighton meeting, as per Premier Injuries. He wasn’t deemed fit enough to make the bench last Saturday, so he might need some time to recover.

Sam Allardyce has Matt Phillips, Grady Diangana, Callum Robinson and Matheus Pereira at his disposal, so West Brom aren’t short of wide players in his absence either way.

Ajayi will be the biggest loss as he has been a regular alongside Bartley, but O’Shea has been impressive at times and had an hour against Burnley without conceding.

Albion could have worse absentees than this trio, but with Sam Allardyce’s men facing an uphill battle against relegation, it is not ideal to be without anyone as the season enters its pivotal final third.
