West Bromwich Albion enjoyed a 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday and Okay Yokuslu was named Man of the Match for his performance at the Hawthorns.

The 26-year-old was called an ‘excellent addition’ to the West Brom squad by Birmingham Live and ‘hugely impressive’ by the Express and Star, and supporters hope he could join Albion permanently at the end of the season.

Against Brighton, Yokuslu played for 90 minutes, had 42 touches, won one aerial duel, made three clearances, completed 87.5% of his 24 passes, made one tackle, had one shot, made four interceptions, had one successful dribble and won two freekicks (WhoScored).

The Turkish international has made four appearances for the Baggies since joining on loan from Celta Vigo and has transformed their fortunes after being handed his first Premier League start last month (Transfermarkt).

Yokuslu has started Albion’s last three league games and hasn’t been on the losing team, conceding just one goal. The 26-year-old doesn’t have a buying option attached to his contract and may not want to stay at the Hawthorns if West Brom are relegated to the Championship, so it remains to be seen if he’ll stick around.

Yokuslu has made a real impact since making the switch in February, but Albion may need to stay up if they want to convince him to stay.
