Things aren’t going to plan for West Bromwich Albion this summer. After suffering relegation from the Premier League, supporters went into the summer hoping Sam Allardyce would stay to get them promotion from the Championship. But he left and the Baggies are struggling to replace him.
The club hierarchy rejected technical director Luke Dowling’s choice of Chris Wilder, leading to him exiting his post by mutual consent, and an approach for David Wagner resulted in him turning down West Brom to take charge of BSC Young Boys.
The East Anglian Daily Times say Albion’s struggle to appoint a new boss for the 2021/22 is having an adverse effect on their ability to finalise transfers too much to fans’ dismay on social media. Rekeem Harper is closing in on a move to Ipswich Town worth £500k, but it hasn’t been confirmed as the club wanted a new manager to green light the move.
Harper made only four appearances for West Brom last season and didn’t set the place alight in his 18 appearances on loan at Birmingham City, so his stock is low right now.
