Josh Griffiths may have a big season ahead of him after impressing on loan at Cheltenham Town in 2020/21 while being linked with a number of clubs ahead of the new campaign, so he’s training hard to stay in shape this summer.
The 19-year-old has been working out in with Radcliffe Physiotherapy, keeping his fitness levels up to ensure his condition doesn’t drop. He’s kept fans updated on his Instagram stories, posting a workout alongside Chesterfield’s James Montgomery.
Griffiths found himself behind Sam Johnstone, David Button, Alex Palmer and Andy Lonergan at West Bromwich Albion last season, so he was sent away temporarily to get first-team football.
It paid off as the goalkeeper impressed at Cheltenham, conceding 37 goals and keeping 21 clean sheets in 44 League One games, leading to him being headhunted by the likes of Lincoln City, Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth this time round.
If Griffiths can shine away from the Hawthorns next season, he could be given a chance at West Brom in 2022. Time will tell, but he’s doing everything in his power to improve this summer which will go down very well in the Albion camp.
