Mbaye Diagne left West Bromwich Albion after his loan spell ended in May, but the Baggies should be keeping tabs on the 29-year-old as it doesn’t appear he’ll play a starring role back at Galatasaray.

Diagne was left out of the matchday squad for Gala’s Champions League second round qualifier and isn’t carrying an injury if his Instagram posts of training sessions are anything to go by, so the striker may be on the periphery again.

The Senegalese international posted on his Instagram story to support his teammates ahead of their meeting with PSV Eindhoven, but they suffered a 5-1 defeat in the first leg and could bow out of the competition before the group stages.

The fact Diagne isn’t deemed good enough to make the squad suggests he might be available this summer, so West Bromwich Albion should be testing the waters.

Despite their relegation, Okay Yokuslu has shown an interest in returning to the Hawthorns, so why not Diagne? He impressed in his short-term loan spell last season and would walk into the side this campaign, so is it too farfetched for Diagne to return?
