Cedric Kipre has an uncertain future at West Bromwich Albion after a lack of consistency and playing time since his 2020-move from Wigan Athletic, but Valerien Ismael did call upon the 24-year-old against Millwall on Saturday.
Kipre was left out of the matchday squad in West Brom’s 1-0 win over Peterborough United but was recalled after the international break following injury to Dara O’Shea. The centre-back played a full 90 minutes against the Lions and marked the rare appearance with a post on his Instagram story.
Kipre has made a total of six appearances in all competitions for Albion, bagging one assist. The lack of opportunities in his debut campaign led to him being loaned out to RSC Charleroi, but he’s been in and around the first-team this time round.
West Brom being relegated has seen a lot of previously frozen out players returning the fold, so Kipre needs to take every chance he gets. He’s featured twice this season, five weeks apart. O’Shea is expected to be sidelined until 2022, so might the Ivorian get a run of games?
