Conor Gallagher impressed during his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion but has ended up at Crystal Palace this season. The Baggies’ relegation from the Premier League ruled them out of re-signing the 21-year-old this summer and now they’ve had to watch him shine at Selhurst Park.

Gallagher’s had a hand in three goals from his first three Premier League games for Palace this season and marked his latest assist in a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur with a picture on his Instagram story. Sadly for West Brom supporters, the central midfielder appears to be having the time of his life in South London.

West Brom needed a big rebuild this summer after losing Gallagher, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sam Field and Rekeem Harper on the same transfer window.  The Baggies brought in Alex Mowatt from Barnsley and Jayson Molumby from Brighton & Hove Albion to accompany Jake Livermore.

Gallagher was one shining light of Albion’s relegation campaign, but all good things must come to an end. West Brom couldn’t compete with Palace and Leeds showing an interest this summer, so they had to lower their ambitions.
