Sam Johnstone played a full 90 minutes between in the sticks as West Bromwich Albion drew 1-1 with Millwall on Saturday afternoon, and he marked the appearance with a serious of pictures from the stalemate on his Instagram story.

The 28-year-old has made five Championship appearances this season, conceding only four goals and keeping two clean sheets. Johnstone looked on his way out of West Brom this summer amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and West Ham United, but he’s now likely to see out the final year of his deal at the Hawthorns.

And while Albion are shelving contract talks for now, they’ll be hoping to convince Johnstone to extend his stay. If The Baggies earn promotion back to the Premier League next May, they could have a chance of keeping him. Valerien Ismael recently admitted an positive update would take time.

The 28-year-old has impressed over the last 12 months and more while representing England as reward for his club form, so Johnstone does have his international career to think of when considering his future in the Midlands.
