West Bromwich Albion drew 0-0 with Derby County on Tuesday evening and Kyle Bartley was one of a few players singled out by supporters on social media for his performance at the Hawthorns – no player won more headers, made more interceptions or made more clearances than the 30-year-old.

Bartley, who’d made the Championship Team of the Week before the game, started alongside Semi Ajayi and Conor Townsend at the back, limiting Derby to only four shots over the 90 minutes – none of which were on target. Both Rams strikers were substituted in the second half after being pocketed, so Bartley and co. did a fine job.

Against Derby, Bartley had 57 touches, won 18 aerial duels, had one shot which hit the target, made 47 passes, had one tackle, gave away one foul, made three interceptions and made three clearances. He was a rock at the Back for West Brom and helped them pick up their third clean sheet of the season.

Next up for the Baggies is a trip to Deepdale Stadium to face Preston North End on Saturday.
