Sam Johnstone played a full 90 minutes for England in Saturday’s 5-0 win over Andorra, keeping a clean sheet and picking up an assist for his troubles, so he marked the occasion with a gallery of pictures on his Instagram account.

The 28-year-old shut out Andorra at the Estadi Nacional, though he faced only one shot over the 90 minutes. His biggest involvement was assisting Jack Grealish for England’s fifth goal, throwing the ball more than 60 yards to the Manchester City forward who beat two challenges and fired home from just inside the penalty area.

Johnstone has now made three caps for the national team, two of which have come in the last month, so he could have a bright future for the Three Lions if he continues to impress at West Bromwich Albion.

The 28-year-old has made 10 Championship appearances this season, conceding seven goals and keeping four clean sheets. Johnstone’s future at the Hawthorns is uncertain amid interest from Premier League clubs, however, so it’s hard to see him putting pen to paper on a contract extension.

International ambition might keep him from staying in the Midlands.
