The Republic of Ireland thrashed World Cup hosts Qatar 4-0 in Tuesday’s friendly and Callum Robinson scored a hat-trick to cap a fantastic international break.

The 26-year-old had scored only once for Ireland before October, but he now has five goals to his name and looks in great form ahead of West Bromwich Albion’s next game.

Robinson marked his hat-trick with a series of pictures on his Instagram story as he’s understandably delighted with how the international break has gone – he was also named Man of the Match in both matches.

The 26-year-old has now scored six goals in 22 games for the ROI and hasn’t been more prolific in his career. Robinson has three goals and three assists in 10 Championship games for West Brom, so this season is going very well.

The Baggies are currently second in the second tier with 22 points from 11 games, though their unbeaten record is over. Nevertheless, Albion are only three points off leaders Bournemouth ahead of Friday’s meeting with Birmingham City, so the summit could look a lot different going into the weekend.
