Conor Gallagher was one that got away for West Bromwich Albion over the summer and their loss has been Crystal Palace’s gain. The 21-year-old joined the Eagles on a season-long loan as they offered Premier League football, and now he’s earned international recognition due to his impressive club form.

Gallagher was called up to the England squad by Gareth Southgate for their World Cup qualifiers with Albania (November 12) and San Marino (November 15), making his debut against the latter. The 21-year-old posted a picture on his Instagram to mark the occasion.

Gallagher, who has risen through the youth ranks to the fringes of Chelsea’s first-team, had a season-long loan at West Brom last season and went on to make 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals with two assists. He impressed despite Albion’s relegation and his reached new levels at Palace.

Supporters on social media were proud to have played a part in his career being on the rise and hailed his accomplishment.

The England international has been outstanding at Selhurst Park and looks to have a bright future. Chelsea get Gallagher back at the end of the campaign and will have a decision to make on where his future lies. Thomas Tuchel must be pleased to see how his development is going in South London.
