West Bromwich Albion were held to a 0-0 draw by Blackpool at the Bloomfield Road on Tuesday evening and Cedric Kipre didn’t have the best of games. The 24-year-old was given a player rating of 5/10 by Birmingham Live and was criticised by supporters on social media as a result.
Kipre was blasted for poor positioning throughout the Championship clash and gave away a lot of fouls too. The uncapped Ivorian defender was the weakest in the air compared to Albion’s other centre-backs and really struggled in possession, so it wasn’t a surprise that fans were unhappy.
Against Blackpool, Kipre played for 90 minutes, had 39 touches, won two aerial duels, completed only 59.3% of his 27 passes, whipped in one cross, made three tackles, made four clearances, had one interception, gave away three fouls and picked up a booking.
The 24-year-old has made seven appearances in all competitions this season after spending the first couple of months on the bench. He’s been a regular at centre-back since November but may not keep his place if things fail to improve.
West Brom lock horns with Nottingham Forest on Friday and are desperate for a win after picking up just two points from their last three games.
