West Bromwich Albion picked up all three points on Saturday afternoon, beating Coventry City 2-1 at the Coventry Building Society Arena, and Alex Mowatt delivered a fine performance for the travelling supporters.

The 26-year-old started alongside Taylor Gardner-Hickman in a makeshift midfielder but did a fine job to quell the threat of the opposition while getting the ball to Albion’s attacking players.

Mowatt was given a player rating of 8/10 by Birmingham Live and is enjoying a bright start to life at West Brom. The 26-year-old didn’t cost the club a penny and looks a bargain acquisition.

Against Coventry, Mowatt played for 90 minutes, had 57 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 64.9% of his passes, created one chance, whipped in three crosses, made one tackle, blocked one shot, had one interception, made five clearances, gave away two fouls and had two successful dribbles.

The 26-year-old has made 16 appearances in all competitions since joining from Barnsley on a free transfer and has quickly become an important player under Valerien Ismael. West Brom next host Reading at the Hawthorns on December 11.
