West Bromwich Albion signed Jordan Hugill on a season-long loan from Norwich City to beef up their attacking options and have ended up using him in every Championship game since. The 29-year-old hasn’t been too prolific, however, so Albion plan to axe him when the winter transfer window opens next month.

Norwich plan to recall Hugill in January after his below-par stint at the Hawthorns and fans on social media aren’t too upset about the news. The uncapped English centre-forward was brought in to provide goals but has scored only once in 17 outings and is without an assist this season, so there may be better options out there for Albion.

Hugill has started only five of those 17 Championship games, but he’s frequently brought on from the bench if he didn’t make the XI.

And while the 29-year-old does work hard on the pitch and has some support for his efforts, the majority believe he should be upgraded. Hugill has scored only five goals in 34 games for Norwich (August 2020 – present), so West Brom knew the player he was.
