West Bromwich Albion ended the season with a 4-0 win over relegated Barnsley and Jayson Molumby was one of many players to impress. The 22-year-old has been with the Baggies all season but was making his debut as a permanent signing and didn’t disappoint.

No West Brom player completed more passes, no player had more successful dribbles, no player was fouled as many times, no player made more tackles, and only one player had more accurate long-balls than Molumby, so it wasn’t a surprise that Matthew Abbott of Birmingham Live gave him a player rating of 7/10.

The 22-year-old was brilliant at both ends of the pitch, supplementing the attack but also turning over possession consistently. His hard work was rewarded in the 37th minute when he won a penalty after being felled in the area. Steve Bruce will have been happy with his contribution.

Against Barnsley, Molumby played for 90 minutes, had 103 touches, one aerial duel won, completed 88.2% of his 85 passes, completed 9/12 long-range passes, whipped in one cross, made three tackles, had two interceptions, made three successful dribbles and was fouled twice.
