Callum Robinson was left out of the matchday squad as West Bromwich Albion drew 1-1 with Wigan Athletic, raising uncertainty over his future at the Hawthorns. Steve Bruce surprisingly dropped the 27-year-old and brought Kenneth Zohore back from the cold against the Latics, but he didn’t cite injury being the reason behind the move.
Robinson has made six appearances in all competitions, grabbing one assist, but he’s amassed only 235 minutes of playing time across the board. Bruce prefers Daryl Dike and Karlan Grant in attack and has given the nod to Grady Diangana and Jed Wallace on the wing, so there’s no room for Robinson.
He was left out of the squad in West Brom’s 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough (July 30), was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw with Watford (August 8), played 29 minutes in their 2-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers (August 14), played 22 minutes in Albion’s 0-0 draw with Cardiff City (August 17), played 15 minutes in their 5-2 win over Hull City (August 20), played eight minutes in the 2-2 draw with Huddersfield Town (August 27) and was left out against Wigan.
The Ireland international was linked with a return to Preston North End earlier in the season and hasn’t made a single start in the league, so is he being moved on before the transfer window closes?
